Ken Johnson to Succeed Jay Bach as CISD Director of Bands

After a lengthy search/interview/selection process, Carroll ISD Superintendent Dr. David Faltys has selected Dragon Marching Band Director Kenneth Johnson to succeed Jay Bach as Director of Bands for CISD. Dr. Faltys (shown at far left) presented Mr. Johnson to the Board of Trustees at the School Board's regular meeting on May 15, 2017.

Ken Johnson has been a teacher for 20 years; he has taught at Carroll for 19 of those years. Although he does not officially take up the Director of Bands baton until August 1, 2017, Mr. Johnson is already hard at work planning the fall 2017 marching band show for the Dragon Band. As any band director will attest, planning and executing a marching season is a job that takes up most of the summer months. The Dragon Band is no exception; summer clinics and rehearsals for the fall 2017 marching season begin in July.
