2014 Parent Demonstration a Success
On Wednesday evening (Aug. 20th), the Dragon Band held its annual "Parent Demonstration" performance on the practice field at CHS. Band parents were introduced to to live demonstrations of the band's warm-up routines, block drills, and "Inside the Circle" winds training. Ultimately, the band invited parents themselves into the Circle, where they experienced firsthand the power and emotion of ensemble performance at this grand scale.
The culmination of the event was the band's marching performance of Movement One of "RISE," the band's 2014 Competition Show. Composed by the Dragon Band's own David Walker, Director of Percussion, RISE is a tribute to the human spirit, in particular to mankind's ability to Rise Above challenge and adversity.
