Carroll Percussion
The Dragon Band offers several performance opportunities for percussionists. These include the Marching Band Drumline and Front Ensemble, Carroll Indoor Percussion, and Concert Percussion Ensembles.
The Marching Band Drumline and Front Ensemble consists of 30-40 percussion students. As the "heartbeat" of the marching band, the group features prominently in every competition show, and competes in various competitions alongside the Carroll Dragon Band during the fall marching season. The percussion section is also known for its production of “LIDS”, which is played at halftime during the varsity football team’s Playoff season.
Carroll Indoor Percussion was established in the spring of 2014. Like the Carroll Winterguard, CIP competes in various Indoor events from January through April, under the auspices of regional and national organizations such as Winter Guard International (WGI) and North Texas Colorguard Association (NTCA).
